iTutor.pk ("we", "us") connects parents and students with tutors across Pakistan. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using iTutor.pk you agree to this policy.

Who can use iTutor.pk

Accounts are for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. If the student is under 18, the account must be created and managed by their parent or legal guardian, who is the account holder. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Information we collect

• Account details: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), and — for tutors — phone, location/area, qualifications, experience, subjects, fees, photo, and verification documents (CNIC, degree, address proof).
• Messages: the content of messages you exchange with tutors or our team.
• Usage data: basic technical information needed to run and secure the service.

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and tutor profiles.
• To let parents/students and tutors communicate and arrange tutoring.
• To verify tutors and keep the platform safe (fraud, spam, and abuse prevention).
• To send service emails (verification, notifications, support).

Messaging, contact details, and safety

• Keep contact on-platform. All communication should happen through iTutor.pk until we connect you. To protect you, our chat automatically hides phone numbers, email addresses, and links shared in messages.
• Messages are stored and may be reviewed by our team to investigate reports, fraud, or abuse, and to comply with the law.
• Tutor contact numbers are never shown publicly; profiles display only general area/locality, not exact addresses.

What tutors and other users can see

• Public tutor profiles show name, photo, subjects, fees, approximate area, ratings, and verification status — not exact location or private contact details.
• When you message a tutor, they see your name and your messages. Your contact details are not shared automatically.

Reporting and blocking

You can report a tutor (spam, inappropriate behaviour, scams, or other issues) and block a tutor from contacting you. Reports are reviewed by our team. We may restrict, suspend, or remove accounts that break our rules.

Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. We keep messages and related records for a reasonable period to support safety, dispute resolution, and legal obligations, after which inactive data is deleted. You may request deletion of your account and personal data (see below); we retain limited records where required for security or by law.

Your choices and rights

• Access or update your profile from your dashboard.
• Request a copy or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
• We aim to respond to such requests within 30 days.

Legal

We operate in Pakistan and handle data in line with applicable Pakistani law, including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). We cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
